Aerodynamics »
Fluid Gravity specialise in aerodynamic regimes which are not accessible to "off the shelf" codes. Generally we are interested in supersonic and hypersonic flows characteristic of space vehicles entering planetary atmospheres. This may be probes retruning to Earth or vehicles landing on other planets. The problems involved are severe with extremely high temperature shocks leading to chemical decomposition of the atmosphere which affects the thermodyanamics. We have capabilities to model the detailed chemistry of the atmosphere where necessary and even to include effects due to ionisation.
