TRAJ3D

3 DoF trajectory code. Computes three transitional degrees-of-freedom motion of a body in a planetary gravity field with or without an atmosphere. Ballistic or Lifting vehicles can be considered together with a parachute descent. Free- molecular and continuum aerodynamics are considered along with convective and radiative heating material response and guidance algorithms. Contain atmosphere models for Earth, Mars, Venus and Titan.

Used for parametric studies of vehicle configuration primarily in planetary entry and descent studies. Configuration trade-offs with aerodynamic / aerothermodynamic performance and where necessary parachute descent phases have been undertaken. First estimates of thermal protection system type and mass are also provided.

TRAJ6D

6 DoF trajectory code. Computes complete dynamic motion of a body in a planetary gravity field with or without an atmosphere. Free-molecular and continuum aerodynamics are considered. A Monte Carlo capability is incorporated and specific guidance algorithms have also been incorporated. Standard plus user defined atmosphere and wind models.

Used for studies of vehicle motion, in particular artillery shells, missiles and re-entry vehicles. In Monte Carlo mode provides an estimate of performance variability given initial condition, vehicle and atmospheric variabilities.
